James Attfield DipFD, CertFDI

Business Development Manager

James started out in the commercial door and window trade as an apprentice in 1993. He spent many years working with some of the best engineers in London. Some of whom have gone on to build very successful businesses.

James left the trade for a while and ventured into other professions such as estate planning and mortgages. He built his own successful sub prime mortgage business, but the collapse of the banks in 2007/8 gave James little choice other than to change direction and he chose to drive taxis.

Driving taxis gave James a lot of thinking time and he decided to go back into the door and window business. His old boss had sold his company and retired to Devon. James approached him with the purpose of setting up a business as partners which he agreed to and they had phenomenal success.

After a few years together they decided to go their separate ways. James continued to build his business. Unfortunately, the business was grown too big too quickly and was not as successful as he’d hoped.

After some time to reflect, James decided to join forces with Sue to build Sureclose.  Due to growing demand and a lack of qualified professionals James became a certified fire door inspector. As well as this he gained BMTrada accreditation to install and repair fire doors.
