James Attfield DipFD, CertFDI
Business Development Manager
James started out in the commercial door and window trade as an apprentice in 1993. He spent many years working with some of the best engineers in London. Some of whom have gone on to build very successful businesses.
James left the trade for a while and ventured into other professions such as estate planning and mortgages. He built his own successful sub prime mortgage business, but the collapse of the banks in 2007/8 gave James little choice other than to change direction and he chose to drive taxis.
Driving taxis gave James a lot of thinking time and he decided to go back into the door and window business. His old boss had sold his company and retired to Devon. James approached him with the purpose of setting up a business as partners which he agreed to and they had phenomenal success.
After a few years together they decided to go their separate ways. James continued to build his business. Unfortunately, the business was grown too big too quickly and was not as successful as he’d hoped.
After some time to reflect, James decided to join forces with Sue to build Sureclose. Due to growing demand and a lack of qualified professionals James became a certified fire door inspector. As well as this he gained BMTrada accreditation to install and repair fire doors.
Sue has a diverse working history which has led her to gain a wide variety of skills.
Sue’s career started at a Lloyds syndicate where she started working in the post and filing room and began to work her way up within the company. Promoted to Manager of the renewals and adjustments department, Sue then managed two teams of 5 people. During this time, she maintained a high level of professionalism, ensuring all client targets and expectations were maintained.
Sue then had a break from work for 4 years whilst she raised her daughter. After this short break she began work in a hairdressers. Sue learned a wealth of knowledge about Customer Service and discovered that looking after customers was her forte.
In 2001 Sue started working as a customer care/ administration assistant for a Mortgage Broker. Working her way up to manager of a growing department. During this period, she met and worked with James and as well as working well as a team they became good friends.
In 2010 James invited Sue to join him in the door and window sector and she began working with him as an account Manager. Sue has worked a variety of roles within Sureclose and is the most experienced member of the team. With her fantastic Customer Service skills, there is no query Sue will not help with!
